Brian Babineau

Located in Palo Alto, CA, Brian Babineau serves as the primary analyst for Continuous Data Protection and Intelligent Information Management solutions. The latter segment includes information analysis, classification, archiving, search, retrieval and indexing. In addition, his research activities continue to focus on regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and electronic discovery and their impact on IT. With an accounting background, Brian also supports ESG’s financial services offerings to vendors and investors. Brian received a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Marketing from Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts.

Rich Castagna is the Editor-in-Chief of Storage magazine. Before Storage, Rich was the Executive Editor for CNET’s Tech Update enterprise computing Web site. Prior to Tech Update, he was executive editor of CNET Enterprise, Editor-in-Chief of Windows Systems Magazine, senior editor for CMP's Windows Magazine and Technical Editor for PC Sources, a Ziff Davis publication.

Stephen Foskett
Director of Data Practice, Contoural

Stephen Foskett is Director of Contoural's Data Practice. This group provides strategic consulting to Fortune 500 companies which assist enterprise customers in aligning their storage and computing infrastructures with their business objectives. For more than 10 years Stephen has provided vendor-independent end user consulting on storage topics. Previous work includes managing and delivering consulting services at GlassHouse Technologies, StorageNetworks and Sprint Paranet. He has been a storage columnist and has authored numerous articles for industry publications and is a popular presenter at industry events.

Howard Goldstein has over 30 years of experience in storage, data and telecommunications networking. His background includes positions in technology, management and education with practical technical experience in architecture, design, planning, implementation and operations. His technical focus ranges across various storage network architectures and products including IP storage, iSCSI, SCSI, Serial Attached SCSI, Serial ATA, Fibre Channel, TCP/IP, Gigabit Ethernet, Infiniband, PCI, PCI-X, PCI Express and others. Howard is an active member of the Storage Networking Industry Association and serves on the SNIA Education Committee. He helped to develop the SNIA Certification Program, as well as other SNIA Education initiatives.

He has been designing and managing data storage systems for more than 15 years and has designed and managed systems for environments ranging from small dot-com start-ups to enterprise storage systems for Fortune 100 companies. He has consulted for the leading storage services companies and Fortune 100 companies throughout the world.

Ray Lucchesi
President, Silverton Consulting

Ray Lucchesi is President of Silverton Consulting, a strategy, storage and systems consultancy based in Colorado. He has worked in the data storage industry for over 25 years mostly in engineering/directing the development of new enterprise class disk and tape storage products at StorageTek and elsewhere. At Silverton Consulting, Ray helps storage vendors improve and better plan product development and marketing activities and has helped customers better understand and use storage technology.

Steve Norall
Senior Analyst and Consultant, Taneja Group

Steve Norall brings extensive marketing and engineering experience at systems, software, and services companies to the Taneja Group. He advises clients on issues concerning product strategy, positioning, messaging, and channel development. His expertise spans operating systems, file systems, databases, server infrastructure, and advanced networking and storage technologies. Steve joins the Taneja Group from PolyServe, a leading clustered storage company, where he was the Vice President of Product Marketing. At PolyServe, he was responsible for the overall marketing and product strategy of the company and successfully launched the company and its two product lines in the market during his tenure. Bill Peldzus
Director of Storage Architecture, GlassHouse Technologies

Bill Peldzus is Director of Storage Architecture at GlassHouse Technologies, where he is responsible for key client engagements. Prior to GlassHouse, Bill had more than 20 years' experience working in technical positions at Imation Corporation's Storage Professional Services and StorageTek's SAN Operations business group, as well as running multiple IT groups at CNA Insurance and Northern Trust Company. Bill often serves as a content expert in storage and disaster recovery and business continuity presentations, including speaking engagements at Storage Decisions for the past four years.

Mark Peters
Analyst, Enterprise Strategy Group

Mark is an analyst at ESG, focused on storage systems, as well as on the (re)emerging challenges of power, cooling and space effi ciencies throughout data centers. Mark has over 20 years of experience in IT. Prior to his current role as an ESG analyst, Mark ran his own business consulting on corporate communications, but still focused on the storage and IT worlds. British by birth, and with a Masters degree from Oxford University, he has been based in Colorado since 1997.

Mark Schlack is Vice President of Editorial for the Storage, Windows and Data Center Media Groups at TechTarget. Mark has covered the use of technology in business for 22 years, concentrating on computer technology for the last 15 years. He began his high-tech career as Network Editor at Datamation, where he later became Editor. Following that, he was the Editor-in-Chief of BYTE magazine, where he was responsible for both print and Web versions of the magazine, both domestically and internationally. He also served as VP/Content for EarthWeb and VP/Editorial for ITworld.com. Mark founded Storage magazine in 2002.

Lauren Whitehouse

Lauren is an ESG analyst focusing on backup and recovery software and replication solutions. A 20+ year veteran in the software industry, she brings extensive experience in enterprise storage and services to ESG. She served as vice president of marketing for Neartek, Network-1 Security, and BakBone Software, where she developed business, product and go-to-market strategies. Lauren spent 11 years at Cheyenne Software and two years with Computer Associates, where she held a number of leadership roles in software development, product management, product marketing, channel marketing and marketing communications. During her tenure at Cheyenne, she led the marketing efforts for its flagship backup product, ARCserve, contributing to its market dominance.
