Keeping your new technology initiative from becoming a disaster

While "software-defined" is derided as the latest rehash of the marketecture we have been hearing for the last five years around "server virtualisation," "data centre clouds" and "infrastructure as a service," a case can be made that "software-defined" has some foundation in actual technology capabilities as well as a more substantial business case. Clearly, IT could benefit from innovations that enable infrastructure services to be delivered in a manner that is highly responsive to changing business conditions.

During this free 3-part seminar, expert Jon Toigo -- a veteran IT operative and continuity planner who chairs the Data Management Institute and helms the IT consumer advocacy, Toigo Partners International -- focuses on the latest IT meme, the software-defined data centre, and its promises and pitfalls.

Seminar Learning Objectives Include:

  • Understand the various definitions of SDDC, the origins and evolution of the concept and its foundations in physical and virtual computing.
  • Develop a business case for software-defined data centres
  • Evaluate the resiliency characteristics of software-defined technologies for application hosting, infrastructure services, and storage
  • Acknowledge the vulnerabilities of software-defined technologies
  • Cultivate a disaster recovery plan to accompany your SDDC plan's execution and operation
