Stephen Foskett, Director of Strategy Services, GlassHouse Technologies, will provide advice and insight to help storage professionals manage, grow and optimize SAN technology. Foskett has delivered his SAN School presentation to rave reviews for storage professionals at the Storage Decisions conferences. At this exclusive seminar, Foskett will expand this popular presentation to a full-day of advice and insights to help storage managers to best manage, grow and optimize SAN technology.

Foskett will start off the day with his “State of the SAN” address. This is not a primer for beginners, rather a review of the playing field for experienced IT managers. He will include his insights into the capabilities (and shortcomings) of today's technology, as well as best practices SAN managers employ today.

As the day progresses, Foskett will look at the merits of pooling SAN islands, migration techniques, improving application availability and how to troubleshoot SAN problems. He'll also touch on where NAS fits into the networked storage landscape by addressing NAS gateway and NAS head technology.

Lastly, he'll cover the future of SAN technology and attempt to uncover where SANs are headed.

He has also done extensive work in storage area network design and integration and Unix systems management. Stephen has written extensively regarding data storage and is a columnist and contributing editor for Storage magazine.
